The Carriage House: Kitchen and Dining

 

The southeast corner of the Carriage House has a kitchen and dining exhibit.

Kitchens in the 1940s and '50s were becoming a mixture of older utensils and electrical inventions.

The work area in the foreground consists of a metal table with leaves and metal chairs. The wooden table in the background on the left has a variety of containers. In the background on the right is an early electric range.

Not far from the kitchen is a dining room table with a tea table cloth and Blue Willow place setting.

tea table cloth is from Germany circa 1920. It is made of linen. It belonged to Tom Jass’ mother and grandmother. The place setting is a Blue Willow pattern on loan from Sue Waltz.
