Arcadia Schools

Education has always been a priority to the people of Arcadia starting as early as 1870 with a log school on the Manke farm.

By 1883 Arcadia had four schools serving 172 children:

  • Gabel School
  • Swamp School
  • Village School
  • Burnham School

The Lutheran School was added in the mid 1880's.

Arcadia High School was built in 1910 and served the community until Consolidation with the Onekama Schools in 1967. The Arcadia Elementary School was built in 1964 and became part of the Onekama Consolidated Schools.
