Farming in the Arcadia Area

Next | Previous | Return to Start

This exhibit has tools used for farming in the Arcadia area. For example, the lower left corner has a barrel churn used to turn whole milk into cream and other milk products. According to the 1897 Sears Roebuck Catalogue, a five-gallon churn can produce one or two gallons of cream (and cost $2.85).

Farming Tools
Note the barrel churn on the left, the grinder to its right, the red portable hand-crank grain thresher, a cream separator on the far right, and hand tools and photos on the wall behind the other tools.
